The staff at Epic Life Church are excited to announce our newest addition! We’re pleased to introduce you to Laura Fischetti, MA, LMHCA, who will be filling the role of professional counselor for Epic Life Church. Laura began attending Epic in October of 2010, while in the process of completing her internship at City University Counseling Center in Bellevue, WA. Sensing God’s call, she transitioned from the idea of joining an established private practice to helping create the newly formed counseling center at Epic Life Church. Laura will be available to both members of Epic Life Church and the general public and will incorporate Christ-centered concepts in her therapeutic orientation and approach.

Background

My highest degree is a MA in Counseling Psychology from City University of Seattle. I also hold a BA in Applied Psychology from City University of Seattle. I began my internship at City University Counseling Center (CUCC) in September 2009 and completed this graduate training in December 2010. I currently see clients on Mondays at CUCC and will be there until the end of May.

Therapeutic Orientation and Approach

I come from a humanistic point of view with a psychodynamic slant. The humanistic approach applies a lot of listening. It involves being with you, the client, in the moment, allowing you to talk about feelings, working to understand where you are, and being available to hear what is going on in your life. The main goals of the humanistic point of view are to find out how individuals perceive themselves here and now and to recognize growth, self-direction, and responsibilities. This method is optimistic and attempts to help individuals recognize their strengths by offering non-judgmental, understanding experience. The psychodynamic slant involves looking at causes, identifying beliefs and values and where they come from. It also involves understanding and normalizing challenges in life.

Approved Supervision

I am under the supervision of a Washington State Department of Health – Approved Supervisor, and am currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor – Associate (LMHCA) pursuing full licensure. LMHCA’s may not independently provide clinical social, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy for a fee, monetary or otherwise unless under the supervision of an Approved Supervisor.

Fees and Payments:

The fee for a 50 minute session is $60.00. If a client is unable to pay this rate, a sliding fee rate may be applied which is based on gross monthly income.
I am not able to bill 3rd party insurance, but accept cash or checks. Payment is due at the end of each session.
